Twin Dragons Academy
Terms & Conditions
Last Updated: October 2026
In short
Train safely, treat everyone with respect, keep your payments up to date, and sign your waiver before your first class. The full terms are below — please read them before you join.
1Agreement to These Terms
These Terms & Conditions are an agreement between Twin Dragons Academy (“the Academy”, “we”, “us”) and every student, parent or guardian, and visitor (“you”) who uses our classes, facility, website or mobile app.
By enrolling, booking a class, signing a waiver, or using our website or app, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms.
2Memberships & Trial Week
We offer a trial week for new students and several membership levels. The plan, price, billing cycle and included classes are shown when you sign up and in your membership agreement.
- Memberships are personal and cannot be shared or transferred to another person.
- The trial week is offered once per student and may be used only by new students.
- We may change class schedules, instructors or the class mix when needed. We will do our best to tell you in advance.
3Payments & Billing
- Membership fees are billed in advance on the billing date shown in your agreement, using the payment method you give us.
- By giving us a card or bank details, you authorize us to charge recurring fees until you cancel.
- Payments are processed by a secure third-party payment provider. We do not store your full card number.
- If a payment fails, we may retry it. Classes may be paused until the balance is paid, and a late or returned-payment fee may apply where allowed by law.
- Registration fees, gear, uniforms and testing fees are separate unless your plan says otherwise.
4Cancellation, Freezes & Refunds
- You may cancel your membership by contacting us in writing (email is fine). Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and notice must be given before the next billing date.
- Fees already paid are non-refundable, except where required by law or where we cancel a service we agreed to provide.
- If you need to pause for a medical reason, injury or travel, contact us. A freeze is subject to approval and the terms we agree with you in writing.
- We may suspend or end a membership for unpaid fees or breach of these terms.
5Health, Safety & Assumption of Risk
Jiu-Jitsu and other martial arts involve physical contact and carry a real risk of injury, including serious injury. By training with us you acknowledge and accept those risks.
- You must complete and sign the Academy’s waiver and release before your first class.
- You confirm you are in good enough health to train. Please see a doctor if you are unsure, and tell your instructor about any injury or condition.
- Follow your instructor’s directions at all times. Tap early, train safely, and stop if you feel pain.
- Students who are ill, have a contagious skin condition, or have open wounds must not train until cleared.
6Conduct & Academy Etiquette
Respect, discipline and honor are at the heart of what we teach. Everyone is expected to:
- Treat instructors, students and visitors with courtesy. Harassment, bullying, discrimination or abusive language will not be tolerated.
- Arrive on time, in a clean uniform, with good personal hygiene, trimmed nails, and no jewelry on the mat.
- Keep technique at a safe level for your training partner, and never use what you learn outside class except in lawful self-defense.
- Respect the facility and its equipment.
We may remove a student from class, or end their membership, for unsafe or disrespectful behavior.
7Minors & Parents or Guardians
- A parent or legal guardian must sign the enrollment and waiver for any student under 18 and is responsible for the fees.
- Parents and guardians are responsible for their children’s supervision before and after class, and while they are not on the mat.
- Please pick children up on time. Children may not be left unattended at the Academy.
8Belt Ranking & Promotions
Promotions are decided only by the Academy’s instructors, based on attendance, skill, understanding of the curriculum, attitude and time in grade. A belt cannot be bought, requested or guaranteed, and fees for testing or gear do not guarantee a promotion.
9Photos, Video & Media
We may take photos and videos in class and at events to share on our website, social media, and in the app. Unless you tell us in writing that you do not want to appear (or that you do not want your child to appear), you allow the Academy to use them for promotion without payment. Contact us any time to have an image removed.
10Website, App & Online Accounts
- Keep your login details private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Give us accurate information, and keep your contact and emergency details up to date.
- Do not misuse the website or app, try to access other people’s data, or interfere with how they work.
- Features such as class booking, check-in and notifications may change or be unavailable from time to time.
11Personal Property
Please keep valuables with you or leave them at home. The Academy is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings. Unclaimed items may be donated or discarded after a reasonable time.
12Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, the Academy, its owners, instructors and staff are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from your participation in classes, events or use of the facility, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct. Your waiver and release forms part of this agreement.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.
13Privacy
We handle your personal information as described in our Privacy Policy. By using our services, you agree to that policy.
14Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page with its “last updated” date. If you keep training with us or using our services after a change, you accept the updated terms.
15Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States. Any dispute will be handled in the courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, unless the law requires otherwise.
